How Jesus Solved Human Trafficking

How did Jesus solve sex-trafficking in his day? What was his method? I will explain it to you concisely in this brief article. Our anti-sex trafficking strategy is modeled after Jesus' method.

Jesus's service to mankind, in Israel, targeted prostitutes and their customers, known then as "tax collectors" (such as Matthew, who wrote part of the Bible). The tax collectors had the money, so they were often mentioned along with the prostitutes of that society and the overt criminals (commonly referred to as the "sinners").

Jesus went after them.

That right there shows where God's heart is and what liberating activity he wants his people engaged in. When Jesus' ministry is reproduced, it will be like millions of anti-bodies dispersed throughout the earth and reversing the effects of abuse and deception in this area.

Most importantly, Jesus work was effective. What was his method? I will sum it up for you with four pillars. And before I do, let me share with you that this is our method also. It is as relevant and up to date as when he deployed it. And it is the best anti-human trafficking strategy.

Here are the pillars listed out, with explanation following.

1. Power
2. His Message
3. His Movement
4. Specific Truth

By power, I mean "the power of God." He had it and used it freely, including to heal "the brokenhearted." He didn't have "pity" on prostitutes and others. He healed them. His power is our power. He gave it to us. He can now heal the same problems he did, in his Name (his Authority, as the King). Minds and hearts and consciences and thought patterns and bodies get healed when the light of God's Kingdom shines on to them.

Jesus' Message was called, "the Good News of the Kingdom," (meaning, "God's Kingdom," or "the Kingdom of Heaven"). This message is still relevant and is to be boldly proclaimed in every nation before he returns (see Mt 24:14). In addition, we also proclaim the King, including his death and resurrection. And we proclaim the benefits God is now giving freely to all who receive Jesus: full pardon / forgiveness, peace with him, eternal life, restoration physically and emotionally. Jesus rose from the dead and is glorious—he can help you. Call on him and he will save you.

Jesus didn't deviate from his message to focus on the violations of boundaries and the traps and trafficking going on in his day. His message stayed the same, and it opened up a pathway for miraculous power from God's realm. So everyone around him, who kept listening to him, were healed of whatever was binding them. 

The third pillar of Jesus' method was his Movement. Jesus started a movement that is still moving today, worldwide. It's very important to specify that Jesus did not start a religion. Humans did that later. There is no time he started a religion. The religion is actually a counterfeit, and typically does not move at all.

Jesus brought a Kingdom—a government from God, with power—and he told those who voluntarily believed in him and followed him, to "Go into all the world and tell the message to them and teach them." That's the movement that's still going on today. ALL who followed him became KEY players in this movement. So after "catching fish," and miraculously "cleaning them" he equipped them and gave them power to go out and do hero work among everyone else. They became his extension into all the world, his right arm.

By recruiting those he healed into the movement, they began to put their faith into action and became unstoppable. They became the leaders in the movement he set ablaze on the earth.

The fourth pillar of Jesus method is specific, area-related truth for specific needs and problem areas.

The Bible contains all the Truth that's needed for success in every area. It takes time and collaboration to extract those Truths, but as we do, we unearth the most rare and greatest treasures. And as Jesus said, "...the Truth will set you free."

This pillar is essential, but it's last for a reason. Why? Because the first focus we should all have is on the main message of the Good News. That elevates us. It reveals the Kingdom, the King, and our place in him. With a single focus on it, and on carrying out the mission, we are lined up correctly with God.

But we do need specific area truth, for example regarding marriage, regarding finances, regarding child-raising...so many others. So he provides it also, for the final touches in our development.

As we give place for the power of Jesus Name to heal us, and receive his Message continually, as we take our place in the King's Mission of getting the Message out to others and receive area-specific Truth to sure up various areas—we become unstoppable, no matter what sewage pit he rescued us out of.
