If I was to stand on a city intersection and ask random people one question as they passed by:

"What do you think God wants from you? What does he want you to do?"

What answers do you think I'd receive? What would be the #1 answer?

I can imagine it would simply be, "To be a good person. Do good to others. Love my neighbor as myself."

But what did God and his Image-Representative, Jesus teach? Here are five simple things:

  1. Believe in Jesus, the Savior God sent - John 6:28-29
  2. Love God, and secondly, love your neighbor as yourself (and this cannot be done without first receiving a revelation of God's love for you, though the Good News Message) - Mark 12:33
  3. Show mercy/compassion to others (after having received mercy from God) - Matthew 18:21-35
  4. Obey his voice, and - 1 Samuel 15:22
  5. Get to know him (discover "the knowledge of God") - 1 Samuel 15:22

I've listed the verses next to each point, above, so you can look them up in your Bible, for more understanding. Without #1 on this list, you can't be given access to the Father, in order to do the next three! So start with #1 for sure.

In my booklet, "Another Kingdom," I announce the simple, powerful Good News Message, and I highly suggest you get and read that. It's offered for free in the Resources section of my site. It can take you from death to life spiritually, from darkness to light.

But now I want to teach you about #3. For those who have already been born from above, I want to share with you what Jesus said to some religious people of his day:

[Matthew 9:13 ESV] 13 Go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

[Matthew 12:7 ESV] 7 And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

THIS is the subject of the message I've attached here. It is part of season 1 of my Royal-Freedom Podcast (formerly entitled, "For Freedom Radio"), available on Spotify: CLICK HERE. If it is a blessing to you, be sure to subscribe and return for more.

By learning what God meant when he said "I desire mercy, and not sacrifice," we will be able to do what he wants done on earth.

Here are the verses referenced above:

[John 6:28-29 ESV] 28 Then they said to him, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?" 29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

[Mark 12:33 ESV] 33 And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."

[Matthew 9:13 ESV] 13 Go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

[1Samuel 15:22 ESV] 22 And Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
